AXOLOTL DELIVERS THE FULL SPECTRUM
Spectrum is a world first, unique coloured metal surface that is as infinite in potential as it is unique in beauty.
Our newest surface was developed by our team in response to a vision in ‘blue metal’ by the designers at Futurespace. Never one to walk away from the challenge to usurp the traditional constraints of materials and deliver new creative opportunities, Axolotl set about inventing ’Spectrum'.
Spectrum, and its breathtaking potential, is showcased in a debut project for Savills, by Futurespace. Custom coloured ‘Tanzanite’ blue Stainless Steel sheets have been fitted to the curved interior faces of the stair void. The metallic surface provides a unique way to inject colour and vibrancy into the project with the high shine finish picking up the surrounding light and accentuating the curved walls.
Spectrum is typically available in flat Aluminium and Stainless Steel sheets in sizes up to 2400 x 1200mm and thicknesses from 0.9mm – 3mm. Panels can also be laser cut to custom shapes and sizes. You can choose from the colours and designs we have developed, or unleash your creativity and design your own unique Spectrum surface with access to the full range of Pantone or CMYK reference colours.
Contact the Axolotl design team on 02 9666 1207 or info@axolotl.com.au for more information on Spectrum, or to discuss how it can be used on your next project.
GOOD MOJO WINS OUT
It was no surprise, but very exciting to receive a Good Design Award for this striking Mojo Luxe bathware from Axolotl and Marblo at last week’s show.
The range didn’t stand out just for its beautiful, considered design, but also the innovative use of materials that hadn’t been seen before in this crowded market.
Now it’s easy for you to have a piece of design history in your own bathroom as Mojo is available to order through Axolotl right now. Or if you want to create your own ‘good design’, contact us with your vision and we can bring it to life using any Axolotl surface, including metal, concrete, terracotta, stone or any combination of these.
AXOLOTL PAINTS DENFAIR
Den Fair, the leading destination for contemporary design, opens today in Melbourne until the 10th June.

AXOLOTL ART PROJECTS PROUD SUPPORTING PARTNER OF SCULPTURE BY THE SEA 2017
Axolotl is a known innovator in surfaces and world class project management. More recently it has focused on sculpting a reputation within the arts sector as the ideal partner for large art projects. GOOD DESIGN AWARDS 2017
Axolotl in conjunction with Marblo are incredibly excited to announce our selection in the 2017 Good Design® for the stunning Mojo Luxe Bath Ware.
Good Design Australia announced the 2017 Good Design Selections last week marking the countdown to Australia’s most prestigious awards for design and innovation on June 8th 2017.
After an extensive evaluation process involving more than 35 Australian and international design experts, the Jury have finalised their results and awarded the best entries to receive the Good Design® Selection.
Mojo Luxe Bath Ware is now in the running to receive the coveted Australian Good Design Award, which will be announced at the Good Design Awards Ceremony on June 8 at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) in Sydney.
On receiving the Good Design® Selection for Mojo Luxe Bath Ware, the Jury commented: “Beautiful, considered design from every perspective. This is a great example of what professional design can bring to a crowded market segment. The Jury applauds the innovative use of materials in a space that has never been seen before.”
Australia’s Good Design Awards date back to the 1950's and have an enviable record of unearthing globally recognised talent and products.
Last year, the Flow Hive, an innovative beekeeping device that has taken the world by storm took out the prestigious Good Design Award of the Year, the highest design honour in the country.
The 2017 Good Design Awards Ceremony and Festival will coincide with Vivid Sydney.
“The Australian Good Design Awards attracted innovative entries from all corners of the world and the standard of submissions this year has really been incredible,” said Dr Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia and Chair of the Good Design Awards program.
This year’s Good Design® Selections represent excellence in design across the widest spectrum of design including Product Design, Service Design, Architectural Design, Design Strategy, Digital and Communication Design and Social Innovation,” Dr. Gien commented.

PAINT HAS A NEW FORMULA
Axolotl Paint was launched in October last year and has already seen great interest, with Axolotl Paints specified for a number of projects by top designers nationally.
We have been overwhelmed with the response and trust the industry has shown in the Axolotl brand since our launch. Our paints deliver the crafted quality and range of specialty finishes that has come to be synonymous with Axolotl. The Micaceous range has been particularly popular, with it’s unique shimmery matte finish making it a designer favourite.
It is now even easier to explore the Axolotl Paint range as our online shop is live and the full range is available to purchase directly through the website. You’ll also be able to find technical information, colour forecasts, advice, order swatches, paint outs, and sample pots.
With the launch of the Axolotl Paint online store, comes an exciting new Rust Paint to join the range. As global pioneers in developing a rust finish that could be applied for decorative effect, it is only natural that Axolotl should now include a Rust Paint. By adapting our unique process, which works with genuine iron, into an acrylic paint, anyone can achieve an authentic looking rusted effect on paintable surfaces. Axolotl Rust Paint can be applied on site for both interior and exterior settings to give an instant aged finish.
A cement paint is also due to be launched in the coming months!
We hope you enjoy exploring the new Axolotl Paint site. The full range of colours can also be viewed in our showroom where you can discuss your project with our expert consultants and order in store.
For more information on the Axolotl Paint range or to discuss your project, you can get in touch by email, phone, or visit the showroom today.
NEW LOOK AXOLOTL SHOWROOM
If you haven’t visited our showroom in Matraville before, or if you haven’t stopped in for a while, you will be blown away by our latest renovations!
Here you can browse hundreds of samples in our range of surfaces, taking a journey from the simplest metal surfaces, through to the most uniquely inventive Link products such as concrete inlaid in glass, or metal ingrained into wood.
Be inspired by Florence Broadhurst designs, which have been reinvented as metal-coated screens and carved doors. In fact, be stunned at our range of doors, which have been re-imagined to add an imposing beauty, as well as value to your home. And while you’re at it, imagine the myriad of other uses for our surfaces such as bathing in the most exquisite copper bathtub, which is as much sculpture as bathroom furniture.
Axolotl Paints are the newest addition on display and it’s instantly apparent how unique these designer paints are, from the hand painted sample cards through to gloss embossed tin labels and the inventive test tube sample pots. Our paints are also available to purchase in store.
On your visit you will also find the limited edition Anomaly furniture range on display, which is Australian made and created by key Australian designers, plus bespoke work from some of the best Australian artists.
And of course, the Axolotl designers work alongside the showroom and are available for consultation and advice – although we do recommend call ahead to make an appointment.
The new showroom is more inspirational than ever. To celebrate, from the 6th through to 8th March we will even have a glass of champagne, or coffee and cake here for you to enjoy while you browse. There is no better reason to invest some time in a visit to Axolotl, and to see how we can help bring your design vision to life.
We hope to see you soon. Call 02 9666 1207 to make an appointment with a designer today.
